California Dream Act Application (CADAA)

The California Dream Act Application (CADAA) allows undocumented students and students from mixed-status families to apply for state-funded financial aid available in California.

Through the CA Dream Act, eligible students may qualify for:

  • Cal Grants
  • California College Promise Grant (fee waiver)
  • Chafee Grant (for eligible foster youth)
  • Middle Class Scholarship
  • Other state and institutional aid

Federal financial aid (FAFSA) is not required to apply for California Dream Act aid.

Who’s Eligible?

You may be eligible to apply if you are:

  • An undocumented student
  • A DACA recipient
  • A U-Visa or TPS holder
  • An asylum applicant
  • A student from a mixed-status family (for example, a U.S. citizen student with undocumented parents)

Eligibility also depends on meeting AB 540 and other state financial aid requirements.
