California Dream Act Application (CADAA)
The California Dream Act Application (CADAA) allows undocumented students and students from mixed-status families to apply for state-funded financial aid available in California.
Through the CA Dream Act, eligible students may qualify for:
- Cal Grants
- California College Promise Grant (fee waiver)
- Chafee Grant (for eligible foster youth)
- Middle Class Scholarship
- Other state and institutional aid
Federal financial aid (FAFSA) is not required to apply for California Dream Act aid.
Who’s Eligible?
You may be eligible to apply if you are:
- An undocumented student
- A DACA recipient
- A U-Visa or TPS holder
- An asylum applicant
- A student from a mixed-status family (for example, a U.S. citizen student with undocumented parents)
Eligibility also depends on meeting AB 540 and other state financial aid requirements.

- Is not used for immigration enforcement
- Is used only to determine eligibility for state financial aid
