Child Development Permits

 

A Child Development Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is required for employment in a Title 5 school.  Application for a Child Development Permit at any level is made through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing or the County Office of Education    Child Development full-time faculty members are available for consultation on coursework and application procedures.  Please contact the department. 

• All unit requirements are semester units.
• All coursework must be completed with a grade of C or better.
• Permit applicants are required to demonstrate personal and professional fitness through a criminal background check/fingerprint clearance.

Financial assistance with application and fingerprint processing fees may be available through the Child Development Training Consortium.  Further information is available at www.childdevelopment.org
