Exiting the Honors program

1. Complete a minimum of 15 units of Honors courses in at least two different disciplines.
2. At least 9 units must be completed at Moorpark College by fall prior to transfer with a minimum GPA of 3.25.
3. Achieve an overall GPA of at least 3.25 in all transferable coursework.
4. Achieve a GPA of at least 3.25 in Honors coursework.
5. Earn at least a “C” in each Honors course. (A Pass/No Pass grade in an Honors course is not accepted toward Program requirements.) While it is not required, we strongly recommend a GPA of at least 3.5. This will enhance your student profile for admission to competitive schools.
6. Meet formally with a Counselor during a scheduled appointment once per semester (fall and spring).
7. Formally present an Honors project you have individually completed while at Moorpark College before a body of peers and at least one faculty member (e.g., MC Student Poster Symposium, HTCC Research Conference, class presentation).  In the academic year you graduate, this must be completed prior to the start of your final Spring semester (January 1st).
8. Attend four (4) extracurricular activities (Extracurricular Event Form - fill out one form for each activity).  In the academic year you graduate, these must be completed prior to the start of your final Spring semester (January 1st).
9. Must give written permission for the release of the Code of Conduct record. 
   WARNING:  Honors students will receive automatic dismissal from the MC Honors Program if there is formal documentation of academic misconduct.
10. The deadline to gain formal acceptance to the Honors Program is October 30th if planning to graduate in the following May.
11. Attend the Honors Exit Workshop (see 'Exiting the Honors Program).
12. Complete the “Program Completion Survey”.
13. Meet with Honors Counselor during the last Spring semester (by March 1st) for UCLA TAP Certification.
