No, New Student Welcome is not an orientation. It is a kick off event for the Fall semester for New Students.
No! There is no fee but you are required to register for this event.
The event will take place throughout our campus, with visits being made indoors and outdoors. We recommend you wear comfortable shoes and sun protection such as sunblock/sunscreen, hat, and/or sunglasses. We also recommend you stay hydrated, the average temperature in Moorpark can be in the mid 80's during the month of August. Please bring water or a reusable water bottle to refill at our refill stations.
Yes, due to capacity only 1 guest per student is allowed.
Each field of study offered at Moorpark College falls into a category called Area of Interest. You can view our website to explore our areas and to find where your field of study falls into: Area of Interest webpage
No worries. Students who are undecided can select the Exploratory area of interest (AOI). You can learn more about Exploratory on our website.
Students who have multiple areas of interest should select one AOI for the purposes of attending an interest session. Please note that all AOIs will be present during the Resource Fair so you are still able to connect with Staff/Faculty from each of the areas.
For guests driving personal vehicles, we recommend parking in the parking structure Lot 6 or in front of the Academic Center in Lot 8. A parking permit will not be required on August 6 for New Student Welcome.
Please be advised that parking permits will be required for the Fall semester that starts August 11, 2025.
Yes, lunch will be provided to attendees who register by August 1.
