Giving Tuesday

WHY GIVE?

Basic Needs. Food. Hygiene. Housing. Transportation. Medical and mental health support. Basic but crucial elements to ensure a student is on a pathway to success. For over 6,000 Moorpark College students annually, the ability to pass an exam, draft a paper, and perform well in class is drastically affected by an empty belly.

Moorpark College Foundation is participating in #GivingTuesday today. Today we celebrate the mission of Raider Central and honor all the work that would not be possible without supporters like YOU. The most basic of needs, a nutritional meal, can easily be met through our Raider Central program. Monday through Thursday, groceries are available at no charge to our students. In addition, students are provided with critical services, including medical and mental health resources, transportation to campus, housing referrals, and hygiene items.

Your gift of any size will help sustain the Raider Central Basic Needs Program.

Your gift of $100 will provide nutritious meals for 8 students!

Your gift of $1000 will provide sustenance, transportation, and health resources to more than 80 students!

Not only is your support needed, but your help is also needed to spread the word about this important work.

  • Share our mission. Email (or even better, pick up the phone and call!) five friends/colleagues and share why Moorpark College Foundation is important to you, Moorpark College Students, and the surrounding community.
  • Start a Fundraising Team of your own. Invite your friends and family to raise funds to support higher education in your community.
  • Spread the word! Share why you donate and what our mission means to you on social media. Use the special hashtag #MCFGT2022 so we can harness the power of social media and connection to help share your story!

You can help make a difference!

With your support, Raider Central can expand its hours and days of preparation and the services provided. Your gift at this time will ensure no student suffers from hunger or lack of basic needs resources; no student seeking aid will be turned away.
