Getting Started

STEP 1
Apply to Moorpark College 
Admission, student portal, financial aid, and VA benefits

Begin your enrollment at Moorpark College.
1. Apply for admission to Moorpark College 
2. Activate your MyVCCCD student portal after receiving your acceptance email.
3. Apply for financial aid through FAFSA  or the California Dream Act , as applicable.
4. If you plan to use GI Bill® benefits, apply for VA educational benefits.

Active-duty students using Tuition Assistance should contact their military education office.

STEP 2
Complete your college orientation and applicable placement activities.
Online orientation and English/Math guided self-placement.

1. Complete the Moorpark College Online Orientation .
2. Log in to your MyVCCCD student portal.
3. Under Registration & Payments, select Guided Self-Placement – MC English and/or MC Math.
4. Complete the placement activities that apply to you.

STEP 3
Complete VRC Intake and Submit Transcripts
Veteran Student Intake Form, military and college transcripts

Connect with the Veterans Resource Center and submit your academic records.

1. Complete the Veteran Student Intake Form .
2. Submit official military transcripts, such as your Joint Services Transcript (JST)  or applicable Air Force transcript, along with prior college transcripts.
3. Complete the Transcript Evaluation Request Form  if applicable.

STEP 4
Meet with a VRC Counselor and Register
Educational Planning and class registration

Develop your educational plan and select your classes.

1. Contact the VRC at 805-553-4106 to schedule an appointment with a VRC Counselor.
2. Meet with your counselor to develop a comprehensive educational plan.
3. Register for the courses identified in your educational plan.

Contact your VRC Counselor if you need to make changes to your class schedule.

STEP 5
Request Certification of Your VA Benefits
MC GI Authorization Form

Request certification of your VA educational benefits.

Once you have completed your Veteran Student Intake Form, developed an educational plan with a VRC Counselor, and registered for all your classes, submit the MC GI Authorization Form.
