The Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) program offers supplementary support services to single-parent EOPS students who receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). CARE assists these students in achieving their higher education goals, thereby enhancing their employability and promoting long-term economic self-sufficiency.
CARE Program Eligibility
To qualify for the CARE (Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education) Program, students must meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in the EOPS Program
- Be a single parent with at least one dependent child
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be enrolled in a minimum of 9 units
- You or your dependent must be receiving CalWORKs/TANF (Cash Aid)
CARE Program Services
Eligible CARE students may receive the following support services:
- Academic Counseling – Personalized guidance to support your academic success
- Priority Registration – Early access to course enrollment
- CARE Grants – Financial assistance for education-related expenses
- Meal Vouchers – Support for meals while on campus
- School Supplies – Access to essential academic materials
- Field Trips – Opportunities for educational and cultural enrichment
- Community & Campus Referrals – Connections to helpful support services
