How to Apply to the CalWORKs Program

Follow these steps to join the Moorpark College CalWORKs Program:

Step 1: Meet with your Employment Specialist (Ventura County) or GAIN Worker (Los Angeles County).
Step 2: Obtain a referral or an approved Welfare-to-Work (W2W) Plan.
Step 3: Apply to Moorpark College at www.moorparkcollege.edu
Step 4: Call 805-553-4055 or email mccalworks@vcccd.edu to schedule your initial intake appointment with a CalWORKs staff member.
Step 5: After registering for classes, meet with a CalWORKs counselor to:

  • Create your Individual Training Plan (ITP)
  • Request a book voucher form
  • Submit required paperwork to your county worker

📌 What to Bring to Your Intake Appointment:

  • Completed Intake Form
  • Copy of your Welfare-to-Work Plan or Cash Aid Verification

📢 After completing your appointment, be sure to update your county worker with your registered class schedule.
