What’s Expected of College CalWORKs Students
To remain in good standing with the CalWORKs program, students must meet the following requirements:
- Maintain Academic Standards
Achieve a minimum 2.0 GPA or a "C" average in all college courses. - Meet County Hour Requirements
Fulfill the required number of weekly hours through approved activities such as education, work, or volunteering, as outlined by your county caseworker. - Submit Monthly Activity Reports
Turn in your completed monthly activity report to your College CalWORKs counselor by the 5th of each month, and then submit it to your county social worker. - Renew WTW Plan Each Semester
Schedule and attend a meeting with your county social worker to renew your Welfare-to-Work (WTW) plan at the start of every semester. - Attend College CalWORKs Counseling
Meet with a College CalWORKs counselor at least twice per semester to review and update your Student Educational Plan (SEP). - Follow All Program Guidelines
Stay in compliance with both county CalWORKs regulations and College CalWORKs program policies.
