ASMC institutes various governing documents that outline the guidelines and policies by which its Board of Directors will operate.

The ASMC governing documents guide the Board's actions and decisions and help maintain consistency in the running of the organization. These governing documents also communicate organizational rules so internal disputes and conflict can be avoided.

OFFICIAL PUBLIC NOTICE: 9/27/2022:

The ASMC Board of Directors is proposing changes to its governing documents. Specifically, the ASMC Board will consider the following over the course of a first and second reading:

  1. Whether to incorporate all of the language of its Resolution Writing Guidelines into its Standing Rules (as they currently exist as a separate document that is referenced in the Standing Rules);
  2. Whether to update in its Standing Rules the charge for the Associated Students Sustainability Committee to include the following item, which currently is not addressed in this section: "Will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Moorpark College Student Garden, working with any applicable student clubs involved in it and claiming ownership of the space in the absence of these clubs."
